Chanted Prayers, are known in Sanskrit as “pujas.” Using ancient prayers translated into English, we receive the blessings, protection and guidance of the holy beings. We can make requests for ourselves or for others who need help or protection. These spiritual practices create a strong connection with the Buddhas, and help us purify our negativity and fill our mind with merit, or positive energy.
Prayers are free and open to everyone.
Prayers for World Peace
Sundays Weekly 10-10:30am
In these morning prayers we create the causes to experience internal and external peace. The chanted prayer, or “Puja”, that will be done will be Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.
Mondays Weekly 6-6:30pm
Vajrasattva is the Buddha of purification. Through purifying our negativity, our mind will gradually become happier, our good qualities will increase, and all our mental and physical problems will gradually disappear.
Tuesdays Weekly 10-10:30am
A special method for increasing lifespan, wisdom, and merit. We all need a long life. If we lose this life, we shall lose our opportunity to enjoy a human life, to practise Dharma, and to attain liberation and enlightenment.
Medicine Buddha Prayers
Tuesdays Weekly 5-5:30pm
Medicine Buddha is a Buddha Doctor whose function is to release living beings from outer and inner sickness by bestowing blessings upon them. By relying upon him sincerely, in these impure times we can be cured of heavy physical and mental disease.
Mondays Weekly 6:45-7:45pm
Everyone who has received a Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment has a commitment to practise six-session Guru yoga. This six-session yoga has been specially arranged for those who have received a Vajrayogini empowerment.
The daily puja at Kadampa Buddhist Centers worldwide is Heart Jewel, which is a Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa combined with the condensed sadhana of his Dharma Protector and a short meditation on Lamrim.
Fridays Weekly 9-10am
By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we shall naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular we shall attain a very special Dharma wisdom.
