Thursday Meditation Class
At Lamrim Kadampa Buddhist Center – Davenport
Starting in January, a new ongoing Thursday night class series will be focusing on “Advice from Atisha’s Heart”, a renowned text composed by one the most highly regarded Buddhist masters, Venerable Atisha (982-1054 CE). Atisha was a great Indian Buddhist master who was instrumental in bringing Buddha’s teaching from India to Tibet. He is the founder of the Kadampa Tradition of Buddhism, which simplifies all Buddha’s teaching into a simple step by step path of meditation that is suitable to practitioners of all levels of interest. Through studying and meditating on this commentary, we will learn how Atisha’s ancient advice can become our practical modern guidebook for living our life to the fullest.
There will be time for meditation and question and answers as well. Each class is self contained so you can drop in to any class you like, or attend the series consecutively.
